Fluwheel & Gearbox oil
As part of our clutch replacement services, we always conduct a thorough inspection of your flywheel to check for any signs of damage or excessive wear. If you are already experiencing vibrations or clutch-related issues, it may indicate that your dual-mass or single-mass flywheel needs to be replaced.
Once the gearbox is removed, it often becomes more apparent whether a new flywheel is necessary. In such cases, we will contact you to discuss the situation and provide a detailed quote for the replacement.
Additionally, every repair we carry out includes fresh, manufacturer-specified gearbox oil to ensure optimal performance and smooth operation of your transmission.
We always promise to deliver a prompt clutch replacement service within the
quickest time frame possible, even if you
are struggling to get your car to our garage we can recover it for you.

Oxbys replaced my clutch. Absolutely brilliant service, very friendly and they picked up and returned my car for free. They knew I needed my car the next day so worked on it overnight, it was waiting for me in the driveway when I woke up in the morning - now that is the best customer service I have ever had. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The timeframe for a clutch replacement typically ranges from 24 to 72 hours,
depending on our current workload and parts availability. To schedule your appointment at the earliest
convenience, please give us a call or send us an email. During this process we will
also inspect your flywheel for any damage and advise of any other findings such as oil leaks, broken wires etc.
The cost of clutch repair, including parts, generally falls within the range of £450
to £1000. However, the final price may vary depending on the make and model of your
vehicle. If a new flywheel is required as part of the repair, the overall cost can
increase significantly. For a more accurate quote tailored to your specific vehicle,
please get in touch with us.
We carry out all repairs at our own workshop, but we provide free vehicle recovery within a wide local area. If you’re having trouble arranging transport to our garage, we can collect your vehicle for you—this service is usually included in our clutch replacement quotes, depending on your location. Once the repair is complete, we ask that you collect your car, although we can arrange return delivery for a small additional fee if needed.
Yes, all clutch repairs come with a 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty (whichever comes
first). This covers both parts and labour, giving you complete peace of mind.
Common signs include difficulty changing gears, a slipping clutch, burning smells,
vibrations when pressing the clutch pedal, or the pedal feeling spongy or stiff.
If you notice any of these issues, it’s best to have your vehicle checked as soon as
possible to prevent further damage. You may also note a soft pedal or sometimes the clutch pedal will stick to the floor and need
a pump, this is signs of a failing concentric slave or sometimes master cylinder however it is extremely rare we replace master cylinders.
While it might be possible to drive short distances with a worn clutch, it’s not
recommended. Continuing to drive can cause more damage to the transmission system and
increase repair costs. If the flyhwheel is still in good condition and you continue to drive on a failing clutch
you may cause flywheel damage which can in some cases double the cost of the repair.
We recommend booking an inspection as soon as possible.
We primarily use OEM-quality or genuine manufacturer parts depending on your
preference and budget. All parts we install are covered under our repair warranty and
meet or exceed original factory specifications. The most common brand being LUK and SACHS, Valeo. In some cases
we can only source parts from the main dealers which can make them extremely expensive, especially for newer vehicles.
To spot clutch issues early, pay attention to how it feels and performs. A soft or stiff clutch pedal, grinding noises, hard shifting, or a burning smell can all signal trouble. You can test for clutch slip by trying to accelerate in a higher gear—if the engine revs but the car doesn’t pick up speed, the clutch may be worn. Another quick check is to hold the brake and slowly release the clutch in a high gear; the engine should stall if the clutch is working properly. Also, inspect the clutch fluid—low levels or leaks in a hydraulic system often point to a fault. As the clutch is hidden behind the gearbox it is extremely hard to do any visual checks until the gearbox is removed.
